My first visit here on the forum. I’ve been interested in dome homes since I was a kid. Always thought one day I’d live in one but may not happen. My idea, probably like many others, is to have several domes in a circle that are all interconnected by hallways. Side to side and to a center hub, maybe two or three hubs. Who knows where this could end up though. I just need to win the lottery first.
Hi my fellow DOME lovers!
I’ve been a dOM hOMe fan for a long time, but the itch is becoming unbearable. I have it all planned out in my mind; so many nifty nooks and crannies to take advantage of, and so much open space to enjoy.
I would love to have a retreat center with mini domes abound for retreat participants. I’ve even got the lineup of spiritual speakers. (I’ve spoken of my dream, and all have responded, “If you build it, we will come.”)
Acreage is required to connect with nature, self-sustaining gardening, and establish tranquility, which a retreat requires.
Air and sun power already researched, and it’s clear that self-sustainability is absolutely possible (so much sun here).
Oh, my name is Michele. I am a former schoolteacher, but due to health issues, now I just dream of domes.
I would appreciate information on someone who can help with the build. I am located in NM, and in a former life, I would have taken on the whole build by myself, but times change, and we have to change with them.
Hugs to all you dome lovers out there!
To dome or not to dome… What a silly question!
; )
I’ve always dreamed of having my own land since I was a kid. About 10+ years ago I started looking at homes we could build that would be a good return on investment, as I didn’t want our home to be wiped away so easily by a natural disaster, if something like that happened, and I found not only earth sheltered homes, but monolithic domes & I fell in love with so many different aspects of them. Just last year we finally got to go to Monolithic Dome for their annual tour and it just solidified our dream house goal. As @MicheleMira said, the itch is becoming more and more unbearable and I cannot wait to finally reach our goal.
