Back in 2005, we joined three 20ft Ecoshells in a row. Not knowing how much to overlap, we ended up with openings between the domes that were too low. How to ensure better openings and where to mark the overlaps? Thank you.
Hi Peter, glad to see you on the forums.
My first thought was 3d modeling. These days, those programs are more available and often free.
If you buy the Airforms from Monolithic, we would be glad to help design those, and even pre-mark the arches for the openings on the Airform.
The level features of the calculators (monolithicdome.com/calculators) could be helpful. For example, if you model a 20-foot diameter oblate ellipsoid that’s 7-feet tall with a 3-foot stem-wall, you can set the “level” to 7-feet. The calculator will show a radius is 8.21-feet at that height. That’s a pretty good place to intersect the domes. At least, it’s a start. When it’s time to pin down the details, we would want to model it in 3D software.
Mr. Tower,
